The New Left aimed to correct the flaws of our nation. For decades, we, as a nation, have allowed corruption in our government. We have denied our citizens basic rights- rights that should have been guaranteed to them- due to the color of their skin. We have been ignorant and intolerant, because of this, much of our government and social class has been tainted. We wish to correct these basic flaws within our nation.

One problem we currently face is the ban of political activities on many of our campuses, as this just shows us, that we are not yet being taken seriously. No system in America should be allowed to deny us our rights of free speech and academic freedom. This must be stopped.

For decades now, our nation has refused to grant the freedoms promised to people of colored descent. This demonstrates an immature sense of intolerance many have yet to outgrow. Not once have these same people thought and considered why they consider themselves better. We wish to rid our society of this false sense of supremacy.

Our president wishes to wage a pointless war against Vietnam, and we understand that we have more to lose than to gain.

"We work to remove from society what threatens and prevents love — the inequity that coordinates with injustice to create plain suffering and to make custom of distrust. Poverty. Racism. The assembly line universities of this Pepsi generation. The ulcerating drive for affluence…"
